About Our Company
While I have 20 years of professional safety experience, when I include the years I’ve been training or working in safety related positions that number increases to 30 years. My first job at age 13 was a lifeguard at Boston’s Dorchester YMCA where I continued to work until leaving home to attend the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Academy at age 17.
The assignments and duties I would perform over the next 24 years in uniform, truly honed my eye for safe and healthy workplaces; culminating in my credential as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). As a Junior Officer In 2007, the Coast Guard offered me the opportunity to attend Harvard University’s T. H. Chan School of Public Health; earning a Masters Degree in Industrial Hygiene.
Following graduation, I served as one of the Coast Guard’s Safety and Environmental Health Officers providing Occupational Safety and Environmental Health support/services to 86 operational Coast Guard units within a 22 state area of responsibility while on call 24/7 as an Incident Command System (ICS) Safety Officer (SOFR) for worldwide emergency/disaster response.
Since retirement from active duty service in 2021, I’ve returned to my passion for Occupational Safety and Health opening Occupational Safety and Marine Consultants in 2022 to provide comprehensive Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene consulting and training based on 30 years of experience in some of the most hazardous working environments.
